Welcome!  This website's raison d'etre is to provide folks interested in Manitowish Waters and Northern Wisconsin real estate the information about our market that they will not easily find elsewhere.  The information contained herein is a mixture of fact and opinion (mine and others) that I know you will find useful as you evaluate the state of the market and the investment choices it provides.

In any investment decision (either as a buyer or a seller), timing is key. This is as true with real estate investments as any other type of investment  Timing is key, but timing the market is near impossible.  What you need is information -- good, sound information -- that will enable you to make the correct decision when the need arises to make one.

What's your pleasure?  A lake home, a lake cottage or cabin, or a vacant, buildable lake lot?  Perhaps an off-water home convenient to a boat landing or other lake access.  How about a detached condominium unit that doesn't require you to spend any of your all too precious time on grounds manitenance?  Or perhaps you desire a large privacy parcel or recreational acreage.

Listings we have, of course, but you can find them on many sites, as well as access portals to the Multiple Listing Service.  But good up-to-date information about buying and selling in Manitowish Waters or Presque Isle or Mercer is a more difficult to find -- unless you are looking here.  Here you will find Today's Market.  Here you will find printable online reports covering such topics as "Buying In A Down Market" and "Seven Things To Understand About Title Insurance" and "Buying Smart - Getting The Right Home At The Right Price" and many more covering topics of interest to both buyers and sellers.  I am certain you will learn something new or come across an explanation for something that you didn't fully understand.

Stock Market got you down?  Well then, I have a three word answer for you:  Buy Land, People!  Reap the reward of owning a tangible, finite investment.  No one is making any more of it.  The present national economic news may seem a bit scary, but this will pass.  Mortgage money is available, and if you are in the position to purchase, now is the time.

Here is another thought for you.  Your retirement account has undoubtably taken a hit along with your stock and mutual fund investments.  Have you considered using your retirement account to invest in real estate?  Your retirement account portfolio may benefit greatly from the inclusion of suitable real estate investments.  There are a number of factors to be considered and rules to be followed, of course, but the concept is a good fit for many people, and even more attractive in today's economy.  See my Using Your IRA To Invest In Real Estate page for more information.
