Oh, what to do. The snowmobile trails opened on Tuesday; Whitecap, Indianhead, and Big Powderhorn have been open for downhill skiing for weeks; the cross-country ski trails at the Discovery Center and at North Lakeland Elementary School have been groomed and tracked; and one could drop a line through the ice if so inclined. And then there is Marvel In Manitowish Waters, soon to be upon us.
The MIMW event is designed and organized to provide family-fun activities in the community from the day after Christmas through New Years Eve., i.e., December 26-31. Depending on the day, one may partake of organized activities such as ice skating, cross-country skiing, making a snow sculpture, horse-drawn wagon rides, dog sledding, snowshoeing; and also indoor activities such as a story hour, a craft project, dancing to Jazzworks, and more. See the Chamber's website for more information, including a complete activity calendar. Something for everybody, come on out!
Hope you like snow! We have 9 inches or better on the ground now, and the forecast is 10 inches or so more from tonight thru tomorrow. And then more next week. It is not even the first day of winter until tomorrow. Yikes!
